About the project

We are analyzing the life stories of rural adults managing diabetes or hypertension with limited resources.

Conversation Topics Included: 

• Tell me about your illness
• How are you currently managing?
• What experiences have you had with healthcare providers? 
• What made the care situation positive or negative? 
• If you could imagine the best healthcare to meet your needs, what would that look like?

We know much about the extent of chronic illness in rural areas of Texas: however, the stories have gone unheard. The knowledge gained from this project will help doctors, nurses, and health professions educators to better provide health services to people in your situation. Check back with us for the project completion in August 2023.
